My other question is, would it be a fuss connecting a powered subwoofer in my car? I'm going to get it done by a tech but will it require a lot of wiring in my car like you know is it gonna mess up everything? What do you guys suggest. Thanks a lot for your help. You could use a Hi-Low converter for your rear speakers to convert the line into RCAs for the amp. And then wire up the amp kit, the only part that I ever had trouble with was which wire to hook up to the Remote wire for the amp. Its not that difficult to be honest for a trained technician.I am not one, but I could do it. I say you're on the right track by having a pro install it. But to answer your questions, it would not be a fuss to wire it up. But search the forum and there is someone who hooked up a system in their rolla and the bluetooth would act wierd. Granted he had 2 seperate amps one for the interior speakers and one for the sub. But you should be fine. You will need one power wire running from the battery to the trunk where you put the sub. You might be able to get away with 8 gauge, but I think 4 gauge might be better. I don't know the power handling of 8 gauge at the length you need. To get the signal to the sub, you'll need a line out converter (sometimes called high to low converter) that will take the signal from your speakers and attenuate it to line level. You then connect the output via RCAs to the input on the powered sub. Some powered subs and amps already have high-in so then no need for line out converter. The remote wire triggers the amp power. It's similar to powering the coil on a relay but I don't know if it's the same thing. Aftermarket headunits have an output for this. The stock one does not. You have two options here. You can hook up the remote to the accessory line such as the cig lighter or power port and the amp will turn on when you turn your key to accessory regardless if the radio is on. The other solution is that there are devices that use speaker signal to generate a remote signal and sometimes this feature is built into the line out converter. Any competent tech should be able to do this install no problem. As far as your choice for a sub though.I dunno.$50 from Wally World just doesn't seem like you're buying a quality item that will do justice for your JBL system. If I were you, I'd look into something like an Infinity Basslink, but that's some $200 more.
